Photograph depicts the top of a totem pole carved as a raven. For other photographs of this pole, see photographs 6 and 7 in this series. On the verso, bottom left corner: 3/4 Haida house project, UBC carving shed, 1961 (Bill Reid & Doug Cranmer) On the verso, bottom right corner "Takao Tanabe 1961-2009" For other photographs of this pole, see photographs 6 and 7 in this series. The totem pole was one of seven commissioned by the University of British Columbia for display in Totem Park. The totem pole was relocated to the Museum of Anthropology (MOA) in 1978. In 2005 the raven figure was removed from the top of the pole due to its poor condition and safety concerns. For more information see the MOA online collection, object number A50034. |
