Item 2002.1.35a is a basket in a flared shape. Item 2002.1.35b is a conical lid with knob handle. Both items are woven from spruce roots. Dyed (yellow) grass stems have been woven in a repetitive horizontal chevron pattern. This item was previously owned by Sophie Gladstone Reid (Bill Reid's mother), which she later gave to her daughter-in-law Martine. |
