Photograph depicts a close up of the top of a totem pole. It features a watchman sitting above a bird's wing. On verso, bottom left corner: 3/4 Haida house project, UBC carving shed 1961 (Bill Reib [sic] & Doug Cranmer) On verso, bottom right corner: Takao Tanabe 1961-2009 For other photographs of this pole, see photographs 9, 10, and 12 in this series. The totem pole was designed as the frontal totem pole for one of the Haida longhouses commissioned by the University of British Columbia for display in Totem Park. The totem pole was relocated to the Museum of Anthropology (MOA) in 1978 and can be viewed there today. For more information see the MOA online collection, object number A50030. |
