Item is a necklace composed of 18k white gold and sterling silver. The necklace "has a collar-like shape and a zig-zag edge that comes to a deep point at front center. The entire surface of the necklace is made up of hundreds of light-reflecting, concave facets of white gold. Each facet is soldered into a filled, hollow groove on the end of a piece of silver tubing. The tubes in turn are drilled and soldered into silver sheet backing." This necklace was a gift from the artist (Bill Reid) to his wife Martine. |
