Item is a silver brooch that has been engraved with the image of a Sea Bear. On verso: Haida Art Reid The brooch previously belonged to Bill Reid's mother, Sophie Reid (née Gladstone). Reid based the design of the brooch on an argillite plate by Tom Price. Price's plate is a part of the McMichael Canadian Colection in Kleinburg, Ontario. |
