Item consists of two earrings shaped like killer whales. The earrings are made of 22k gold and were made using the lost wax technique. Inscription on flukes: R 71 2002.1.10a: left earring, killer whale facing right 2002.1.10b: right earring, killer whale facing left These are believed to be the smallest killer whales crafted by Bill Reid. They demonstrate the classic Haid tendency to depict monumentality in exquisitely small formats. |
